Welcome, Deities!

Gods, Goddesses, and Primeval Forces!  Be you welcome here.

I/I/I am FATE: Clotho, the spinner of the threads; Lachesis, the measurer of the threads; Atropos, the cutter of the threads of life.  You are here because the threads of your life, divine though they may be, have drawn you into this skein.  Your destinies are entwined.

You have come because you must.  All are equal here, now.  In time, most will fall from lofty heights.  But know this - even the fallen may claim glory.  This contest is as it will be.  Must be.  Shall be forevermore.

So gird your loins with courage, cleverness, and ... all those skills and powers necessary to prevail.  You will need them all.  And more.

Some call I/I/I the "Inexorable."  Others the "Implacable."  I/I/I say to you now assembled: I/I/I are The Kindly Ones.  There is no malice in my spinning, in my measuring, in my cutting.  The warp and woof of the Great Loom countenance no malice, no hatred, and no favors.  I/I/I/ do what I/I/I must, bound by the eldritch and profound forces that allow those such as yourself to manifest your powers.  All are bound by Fate, even I/I/I.

Past, present, and future... what was, what is, and what shall be... all are spun/woven/cut together into the the Tapestry of Life.  Trials await you, Deities.  All shall be tested.  Many shall fail.  Those who fall shall rise again, though not as you are now.  In time, one will remain.  The Almighty.
