Poseidon's Layer

Poseidon resides in the lost city of Atlantis in the deepest depths of the ocean. His extravagant palace cannot be found easily and is protected well.  Surrounding the entrance of the ocean-cave that leads to Atlantis are a fleet of hundreds of killer whales flipping playfully through the dark blue waters prowling for intruders to dismember effortlessly. The underwater cliffs, which the whales guard, glow green from the countless eels whos electric pulses thump loudly in depths of the sea.   Their slimy bodies coat the poisonous corals and its spinney urchins that fill every crack.  Just one touch of the colorful cliff would either fry any mortal creature or machine.  The glow from the eels outlines a small cave entrance, which is covered by a thick layer of shimmering pink tails of giant jellyfish. The jellyfish line the top of the cave as their tails stretch downwardly like a deadly curtain gently waving invitingly back and forth covering an enchanting cave entrance. If one were to survive the pressure of the deep ocean and the wrath of Poseidon’s dedicated incumbents parting the deadly curtain of jellyfish they would be tenderly escorted deep into the cave by phytoplankton glowing white in color.  Just before you think you have reached safety you begin to spin, faster and faster until you are trapped spinning violently in a massive vortex.

Once spit from the vortex your pain and confusion would be instantly disregarded.  The beauty is overwhelming.  The lost city of Atlantis!

Here thousands of meters below the earth’s surface is a world few could imagine.  The cliffs are lined with structures that once flourished with life.  The most beautiful architecture from the greatest masons and stoneworkers shimmered in crystal clear water.  The city is crumbled but is clean. Colorful tropical fish clean the architecture tirelessly for their master.   The sights are incomprehendable.

On the highest oceanic peak overlooking the city is the palace of Neptune himself.  The Palaces pillars stretch hundreds of feet tall and statues line the star covered entrance.  Pods of dolphins surround any newcomers immediately notifying newcomers and great white sharks patrol the entrance prepared to devour any one who dares to approach the fantastic structure.

In this palace Poseidon himself snores a thunderous snore surrounded by all the riches, the most beautiful mermaids and most handsome hippocampus (aquatic horses), born to toe his golden chariot across the sea.  Don’t be deceived, Neptune doesn’t need his dolphins to report intruders, if you are in the ocean you are nothing but another possession of his mightiness.
