Coyote's Crib

Coyote's crib, so to speak, is a vast expanse of desert and grassland situated in a massive valley between the two tallest mountains on his planet.  Coyote's crib is unique due to the fact that Coyote occupies multiple forms depending on his mood; in addition to his common animal form, he may resemble a handsome young man, or an old man, withered but wise.  Coyote's crib must accommodate all of his various forms, and as such it resembles both a creature's habitat and a man's abode. While in his animal form, Coyote spends most of his days exploring and hunting for food, and since he is capable of traveling at great speeds, this calls for a vast area for him to traverse.  Coyote is very sneaky and mischievous, meaning that he sometimes needs places to hide from those he has tricked in the past.  Because of this, Coyote's expanse is filled with secret caves and hidden, underground passageways, and only Coyote himself knows the layout of these caverns.  When Coyote chooses to take his human form as a young man, he keeps himself at peak physical condition by working out and traversing various obstacle courses which he has built for himself. When Coyote chooses to take his human form as an old man, he spends much of his time refining his keen wit and superior intellect by performing many of the challenging puzzles that he also designed for himself.

Thor Odinson's Crib

Thor Odinson’s Crib

Thor Odinson’s Crib

I, The Almighty Thor, Son of Odin the All-Father, was born and raised in the Kingdom of Asgard. My father built the kingdom centuries ago. I need only the essentials. I have a bed to sleep in, food to eat,  ale to drink, and my almighty hammer to fight with. That is all.

Norse Mythology

Thor is the Norse god of thunder. He is the son of Odin and Jord, and one of the most powerful gods. The norse believed that during a thunderstorm, Thor rode through the heavens on his chariot. Lightening flashed whenever he threw his hammer. Thor wears the belt of Asgard which doubles his already considerable strength. He later mated with a giant named Jarnsaxa with whom he had a son named Magni, but his wife is Sif, whose hair Loki cuts. Thor's appetites are gigantic. He once drank from a horn that was emptying the water from the ocean. He is described as huge, red-bearded, with burning eyes who could defeat giant or troll in a test of strength, although he was much smaller than a giant and once slept in a giant's glove. He has an adoptive brother named Loki.

No one can understand the longevity of this suffering like the fire and lava that surrounds my throne. Welcome to “The Fortress of Instability.” It used to be called “The Fortress of Fire,” until the light of my life slowly died in my arms. Now I’m alone. It seems like yesterday that I waltz throughout this abode with my lover. Now I only seem to stumble about. Fire brings me no pain, quite the contrary. It’s a reliever. It’s the only element I can trust. This is where I conjure the fire elements around my body to sooth this everlasting pain. This is where the fire puts me to sleep or wakes me up. This is where I am growing into what I used to be: content. Welcome.

Ra's place of rest

My favorite place in Heliopolis
During midday, when I am not flying around in my manjet-boat (a.k.a. 'Barque of Millions of Years') around the sky, I reside as a human in Heliopolis, known as the City of the Sun in Cairo, Egypt.  I am always extremely busy, therefore I am usually found in my boat. However, when I do want some down time, I’ll visit my favorite place, Heliopolis, where the tower of my era still stands, the Al-Masalla obelisk. It reminds me of the time when things were simple, giving me a certain peace that I can’t find anywhere else. It is a part of what Cairo looks like now (see picture below). This is a nice place for me to go and relax, forgetting all of my stressors for the midday. I love to walk around and feel the stone from so long ago, thinking of new ideas to create and transform this world into a better place. Usually I do not stay here long, as I have much other important business to attend to, bring the creator of all.

Poseidon Card

Child of the Titans Cronus and Rhea and brother of Zeus and Hades, Poseidon was the Greek god of the sea, earthquakes and horses. Mythology depicts him as being a temperamental god, who often plagued those who angered him with storms and shipwrecks. His precise powers and weaknesses depend on the particular story in which he appears, but like the other Greek gods, very little can harm him. His only real weaknesses lie in tricking or deceiving him, and woe betide the trickster if Poseidon ever learns that he's been duped (Robert Vaux).

Strengths:

As the god of the sea, Poseidon has power over all forms of water, as well as the creatures of the sea such as fish and dolphins.  He carries a giant trident, which is so powerful that it can shake the earth.  His powers can be used to cause tempests and earthquakes, drown lands, shatter rocks.  He could call up storms and typhoons out of blue skies, drive ships into rocks with terrible waves, and create new land formations by unleashing great earthquakes.

In addition to oceans and earthquakes, Poseidon was the god of horses, and held influence over all things equine. He rode across the sea on a golden chariot drawn by hippocampi (aquatic horses), and myths tell of him fathering numerous magical horses.

Weaknesses:

As a god, Poseidon possessed very few tangible weaknesses. The most prominent was his comparatively limited influence. He had no power over the air or land (besides being able to cause earthquakes), and if he intruded into those realms, it would draw the ire of whatever other god held sway there. The best way to protect oneself from his wrath was simply to stay away from the ocean.

Like all Greek gods, Poseidon was petty, given to fits of temper and capricious whims which left no room for the opinions of others. While it made for quite a pinch if you were his target, it also meant that he could be distracted fairly easily.

Poseidon's Layer

Poseidon resides in the lost city of Atlantis in the deepest depths of the ocean. His extravagant palace cannot be found easily and is protected well.  Surrounding the entrance of the ocean-cave that leads to Atlantis are a fleet of hundreds of killer whales flipping playfully through the dark blue waters prowling for intruders to dismember effortlessly. The underwater cliffs, which the whales guard, glow green from the countless eels whos electric pulses thump loudly in depths of the sea.   Their slimy bodies coat the poisonous corals and its spinney urchins that fill every crack.  Just one touch of the colorful cliff would either fry any mortal creature or machine.  The glow from the eels outlines a small cave entrance, which is covered by a thick layer of shimmering pink tails of giant jellyfish. The jellyfish line the top of the cave as their tails stretch downwardly like a deadly curtain gently waving invitingly back and forth covering an enchanting cave entrance. If one were to survive the pressure of the deep ocean and the wrath of Poseidon’s dedicated incumbents parting the deadly curtain of jellyfish they would be tenderly escorted deep into the cave by phytoplankton glowing white in color.  Just before you think you have reached safety you begin to spin, faster and faster until you are trapped spinning violently in a massive vortex.

Once spit from the vortex your pain and confusion would be instantly disregarded.  The beauty is overwhelming.  The lost city of Atlantis!

Here thousands of meters below the earth’s surface is a world few could imagine.  The cliffs are lined with structures that once flourished with life.  The most beautiful architecture from the greatest masons and stoneworkers shimmered in crystal clear water.  The city is crumbled but is clean. Colorful tropical fish clean the architecture tirelessly for their master.   The sights are incomprehendable.

On the highest oceanic peak overlooking the city is the palace of Neptune himself.  The Palaces pillars stretch hundreds of feet tall and statues line the star covered entrance.  Pods of dolphins surround any newcomers immediately notifying newcomers and great white sharks patrol the entrance prepared to devour any one who dares to approach the fantastic structure.

In this palace Poseidon himself snores a thunderous snore surrounded by all the riches, the most beautiful mermaids and most handsome hippocampus (aquatic horses), born to toe his golden chariot across the sea.  Don’t be deceived, Neptune doesn’t need his dolphins to report intruders, if you are in the ocean you are nothing but another possession of his mightiness.

Apollo

This is where I live with my father, Zeus, the God of the Sky and all  Gods,  my twin sister,  Artemis, the Goddess of Wilderness and Fertility, and the other nine of the original Twelve Olympian Gods of the Greek Parthenon.  I've lived here for as long as I've been alive.  I was born just after my father stole it from his father.  This was done rightfully so, I would have done the same, as Cronus, the King of the Titans, was a force of chaos and disorder.  My father, with the help of his siblings, Poseidon and Hades ousted the malicious Titan dividing some of the power among themselves.  Poseidon became in charge the ocean, Hades became god of the underworld or human world, and Zeus  took over the air and the sky.  As time went on father delegated powers to a total of Twelve Olympians who worked together to maintain a more natural and balanced world.
Despite being a twelve God family, there's plenty of space atop Mount Olympus for us to live comfortably.  We have rooms to commemorate triumphs such as the gigantic mural in my wing that depicts me striking down the evil dragon Python of Delphi.
We Olympian gods and goddesses have our own space in the castle where we can hone our powers.  For instance Bacchus, the youngest Olympian Deity, the God of Wine, Ecstasy, and Celebrations, has his own chambers for experimenting with new types of wines to bless the world with.
I even have my own room for my Lyre where I can play, and channel musical energy into the greater world.  Music is important for maintaining harmony in the world.  My mission is to inspire more humans and gods to incorporate music into everyday life.  I beleive this will being about more peace and happiness to whoever gives it a chance.  I will continue to use my influence to spread the joy of listening to, dancing to, playing and appreciating music to all.  Music is a gift.  It is one of my many gifts to  the world.
Lastly, but not least, I couldn't let you off without showing you my wheels.  How did you think I get anywhere from the top of Olympus?  My father gave it to me after I returned back to Mount Olympus after being gone for eight years.  The horses, being Gods themselves, will live forever, and someday I will pass them on to my son.

Ra- Deity Baseball Card

Welcome to Mut's Palace...

Above is my palace. It is located in a vast desert which never ends, you must be invited by me personally to enter. It is inspired by the rich history of Egypt and deep connection my people have long had with the animal kingdom. Its walls are decorated with jackals, cats, scarab beetles, crocodiles and hippos. These animals reflect my love of the Nile River and the manifestations of other gods in various animals. The structure is surrounded with lush plants symbolizing my great fertility. Flowing water weaves its way around my palace because it sounds sooth me. I enjoy calming early morning rows on its surface as, these maintain my physical and mental strength. This water also acts as a
protective barrier against fire; my elemental enemy.
Inside, there are many open spaces. I tend only to dwell in the top-most white level. This level contains my personal rooms such as my bedroom, bathroom, library and kitchen. I can watch over my palace from this height. It also only seems appropriate that the places where I spend most of my time are above everything else as, I am truly above all other gods and goddesses.

Here is my library which contains long volumes I have written. I want to maintain my incredible wisdom so that if I should ever fall from my godly position, future generations can learn from my insight. The wisdom of a woman is powerful and eternal. I also pass a lot of my time reading the works of other gods and mortals, it is important to me that my knowledge is not saturated in one area.

My bedroom is rather simple. I want it to be a place of reflection, void of confusing decor or color. If my room were as detailed as the grandeur of my palace walls, I think I would become overwhelmed. The muted tones also make the room feel like a calming escape when I am in conflict with other gods.

In keeping with the calming theme of my bedroom, my bathroom is also a soothing haven. It reminds me of the natural world which I love so much and has a zen garden decoration. I take long showers here in which I ponder my future godly actions and think about my day. This ritual is very important to me.

Do not be fooled by the picture above, it is not outside, it is my roof-top lake. A barrier of trees surrounds it and I invite only my most special guests to spend time with me on my small dock.

I am also blessed to have a wonderful kitchen where I can cook and entertain visitors. However, do not assume that because I am the "mother-god" I belong in the kitchen, I simply enjoying creating new dishes and serving them to others. I like the feeling of providing for others and what better way to do this than give others nourishment. There is emphasis on lighting in all the rooms of my house, which is particularly evident in this picture. I find that light can impact my mood greatly and so I try to have symmetrical, balanced placement of light throughout the palace.

Strengths: Wisdom, Strength, Fertility
Weaknesses: Decision-Making, Fire, Impulsive

Nanook Crib what up

As the Inuit Deity of bears, Nanook lives a fairly simple life.  Being a demigod he was able to construct an igloo on top of his watch mountain.  This is your standard-equipped igloo with all the basic amenities of other igloos.  Unlike any other igloo around, this one has a larger entrance and area.  It has a single window where he enjoys gazing out into the distance, watching for hunters that are disobeying the rules of hunting.  Outside, Nanook keeps a collection of frozen fish and meat so he doesn't have to travel far to get food.  Since wood is so scarce in the arctic climate, Nanook has surrounded what ht has scavenged around his igloo as a marker and give an otherwise bland area some color.  On clear nights Nanook enjoys looking out at the vast arctic area from his mountain.  Travel down the snow mountain that he lives on, and you'll find a crack in the snow and earth that leads directly to the ocean.  This is where Nanook hunts when needed.  From atop this mountain, Nanook can see and sense all of the Arctic area of Alaska and Northern Canada.

Loki's Palace in Helheim

There is a great ash tree Yggdrasil, keeper of the nine worlds; it balances all that is, reaching from centeredness itself to the top of the heavens.  Here, at the Twilight of the Gods, the Yggdrasil has caught fire.  It appears as a flaming and deadly crown to my home. My realm is Helheim, among Yggdrasil’s deepest roots.  Here I stay with my daughter, Hel, and her army of dead.
Map of Yggdrasil

Around Helheim, the impassable, cold river Gjöll flows.  The water is so cold it is said to flow with daggers.  The air in Helheim tastes of crisp, dry blood, and ice crystals engulf all that exists here.  There are even dead souls encased in translucent crystals. My palace lies at the center of Helheim, a large structure of frost and mist.  The palace is never-ending, as new crystals constantly grow and form in the frozen realm.  The architecture is that of the cycles of frost and melt, crystallize and liquefy, stopped at their harshest.

A Great Hall exists where strategies may be planned and where the dead soldiers may drink mead.  To the left of the hall is the armory; icicles, waiting to become the daggers and swords of their dead masters, hang from the ceiling.  Archery targets splinter and regenerate with each hit, the bulls eyes pointing to great crackling centers in blocks of ice.  North of the Great Hall is the throne room, a magnificent place where darkness and mist lift at a singular point; the throne itself is where light has reflected from crystal to crystal, reverberated throughout structures, and pinpointed itself at my countenance.

Just beyond Helheim, my child Jormungand, the World Serpent, wraps around a higher root of Yggdrasil, poison waiting in his mouth for those who cross him. Beyond is the root of Asgard, my brother Odin’s realm, a large and forested place surrounded by great stone walls. I know it well.
I am the one that tricked the giant who built the walls surrounding Asgard; I know the dimensions and boundaries of this incomplete project.  The Aesir asked me to stop the giant who was building the walls so they would not have to pay him.  Disguised as a mare, I distracted the giant’s stallion from his work.  From him, I bore Sleipnir, the great eight-legged horse, who I gave to Odin as a gift.  This was, of course, before Odin’s betrayal.
Distracting the giant's stallion
It is true that I had been cast out of Asgard for a slight misunderstanding with the Aesir, but I have heard the call of the Gjallarhorn and felt the tree Yggdrasil shudder as it caught fire.  My children Fenrir and Sleipnir remain in Asgard, ready to fight.  Ragnarök, the Twilight of the Gods, has begun; I have broken my bonds and I am free to seek my life among The Almighty.
